Participation was the name of the game at the 2010 BARP Tea Party on Saturday 27th March at Accra Beach Hotel. With over 100 guests attending, the Hat Parade was an outstanding success, with some in their “Hats for all Seasons”, some modeling the head-wraps so deftly executed by our Nigerian and local designers, and others wearing creations just for the fun of it.
Amongst those providing the entertainment were Jazz duo, June Beckles and Ebby Gilkes, who had the eager crowd singing along; Varia Williams, whose vivid performance of Cynthia Wilson’s Short story, “Enter Mabel” was warmly received, and Victor Agard, whose versatile harmonica playing delighted the assembled crowd.
Prizes galore were handed out to the Hat Parade winners and thanks were expressed to all for the hard work and attention to detail which characterized all the preparations and organization of the event. Once again, Stansfeld Scott gave their kind support, providing tea, prize baskets and some of the décor, with other prize-donors as generous as ever, including Joan Linton of Flower Fantasy whose arrangements adorned the main tables.
