Now about to enter its second year of operations, the BARP/ICBL GoldenHealth Plan invites applications from eligible BARP members.  The Plan is administered by BARP and underwritten as a group health paln by Insurance Corporation of Barbados Limited (ICBL). 

The wide ranging benefits include lifetime coverage of $300,000; a schedule of Preventative Care Benefits that are not subject to deductibles; automatic Life Insurance cover, and a remarkable age limit of up to 75 years for new subscribers, all at the single person, monthly premium of just $123.50 which remains unchanged from last year.

The BARP GoldenHealth Insurance Plan came into effect on August 1st 2008.

PLEASE NOTE: Members of the former Medical Assistance Fund (MAF) have now missed the July 31st 2008 deadline for their automatic re-enrolment in the new GoldenHealth Insurance Plan. Whilst these persons may still apply to join the Plan, they are no longer guaranteed to be accepted.

Existing BARP members under age 75 must submit their applications AS SOON AS POSSIBLE to enrol in the new scheme. As well as an application form, they will be asked to complete a health statement form and at the discretion of the Insurance Company, pre-existing conditions may be excluded.

Existing BARP members who have not submitted their applications within the next few weeks may be required to obtain a medical report and provide a Health Status Report at their own expense which may result in restrictions or refusal of cover.

ELIGIBILITY TO JOIN

New BARP members who are eligible (under age 75) can apply to join the Scheme within 30 days of their successful application for BARP membership. These persons will also be asked to complete the same health statement form as above.
