Dedicated to the memory of Kathleen Drayton, who had been involved in the planning of the BARP Cropover Extravaganza 2009, right up until her sudden passing on July 6th., the event at Ilaro Court on Saturday 18th July was an outstanding success.  As these photographs by Kevin Culpepper show, the crowd were treated to a full afternoon and evening's entertainment which was enjoyed by all.

This is the first time the event has been held at such an illustrious venue and it is sincerely hoped that permission will be granted to make Ilaro Court the regular annual location for what is rapidly becoming established as one of the highlights of the BARP social calendar.

The food and drink flowed and satisfied a crowd of more than twice the size of that which attended the previous two years that the BARP Cropover event has taken place.  The success of this year's event was in no small part a result of the efforts of a planning team which was headed by Peter Boyce of Supreme Events under the able direction of Kathleen Drayton and originator of the event, Frank DaSilva.

Advertised as a family event, the organisers were particularly pleased by the attendance of many of the younger generation, more than a few of whom were surprised to see their 'Grands' jumping up and waving and mobbing artistes who brought their music down into the crowd.

Plans are already underway to ensure that next year's event is even bigger and better, so make a note in your forward planner for 2010 - We'll be back!
