Re-vamped Magazine Launched

Fifty Plus, the new look, new magazine of the Barbados Association of Retired Persons, was officially unveiled and launched at a champagne reception on Friday 20th June 2008 at the Amaryllis Beach Resort.  Published twice a year, Fifty Plus is aimed at all persons aged 50 and over in Barbados and beyond.

The new look magazine includes features on health and well being, lifestyle and leisure, consumer affairs, legal and financial advice, travel, cookery, nostalgia, books and much, much more.  Fifty Plus is intended to inform, educate and entertain, as well as enabling BARP members to keep in touch with the Association's news, views and activities.

Following free distribution to all BARP members by post, courtesy of Insurance Corporation of Barbados Limited, the magazine is available for purchase, priced $10, in Super Centre supermarkets around the island, and Cloister Bookstore at  Sheraton Centre.  Additional ‘complimentary’ copies are circulated to a carefully selected circuit of business premises.

The circulation of Fifty Plus during 2008/9 is guaranteed at a minimum of 15,000 with an estimated readership in excess of 45,000.

‘Cover Girl’ for the 76 page Summer 2008 launch issue was people’s favourite, Maizie Barker-Welch, who unveiled the magazine at the launch on June 20th.
