This year’s Easter Tea Party and Hat Parade in the Hastings Conference Room at the Savannah Hotel was again a sell-out.
The invitation to attendees to wear hats, caps and ‘lots of bling’ resulted in some outstanding hats in the Parade which not only emphasised an Easter theme, but included hilarious topical references to “disappearing pig-tails” and “missing snakes”.
The judges of the Hat Parade included all time favourite Maizie Barker-Welch, ably assisted by Joyce Cole-Georges and some new members of the Education and Social Activities Committee.
As well as generously donated prizes awarded in various categories for the most imaginative Hats on Parade, the now traditional ‘table games’ were a also a great success, with further prizes awarded for a quiz based on word association.
Guests were invited to enjoy the now familiar buffet which included a variety of sandwiches, lots of Bajan fishcakes, succulent meat patties and tempting fruit cake. all of which were described by several guests as delicious.
Entertainment was provided by popular steel pan player Stephan Brathwaite and the brilliant Cicely Spencer-Cross, both of whom were warmly received by the audience.
