Crowds flock to Flea Market and spend plenty

The BARP Skills Bank's 'Flea Market' which was organised to raise funds for materials for their hospital recreational projects throughout the island, was a great success.  Contributions in advance of the market had included donations of cakes, coconut bread, rice, peas, clothing, plants and bric-a-brac, all of which were most gratefully received.  On the day, 24th November 2007, all of the above items and more were for sale, with visitors also enjoying the wide range of food and drink on offer.  A great, fun time was had by all at this important fund raising event.  It was a real opportunity to pick up a bargain, save a dollar and help a worthy cause.  The final tally is yet to be calculated, but there is no doubt that much needed funds were raised for one of BARP's most worthwhile causes.

A big thank you to all the volunteers who worked so hard in advance of, as well as at the event itself under the expert direction of Joyce Cole-Georges.  A big thank you also to the many companies and businesses who supported the event with their generous contributions of goods and services.
