Christmas Concert Showstoppers

The BARP Annual Christmas Concert with The Royal Barbados Police Band on Saturday 15th December 2007 was a runaway success.  The packed auditorium at St Gabriel’s School was not only treated to the ever popular performances of the Police band itself, but on this occasion, special guests included the BARP Chorale under the leadership of Michael Gill, and the St. Gabriel Junior Choir

The Police Band was conducted by Asst. Superintendent Ellis, with special appearances by Station Sergeant Best and the dynamic former Asst. Director of Music, Mr. Rudolph Holder. Solos were rendered by Constables Watson and Millington and Barbados’s ‘evergreen’ veteran entertainer, Mark Lorde.

The entire concert was very well received, with many of the audience joining in with the ever popular hits "Tequila" by Chuck Rio and "Hootenanny" by Harold Walters.

Amongst the highlights of the evening which almost ‘stopped the show’, was a rendition of "Away In a Manger" performed by the Police Band and the two choirs, in a Gilbert M. Martin arrangement specially written for orchestra, adult and children’s voices.
