The annual Christmas Party, organised to perfection by Grace Pilgrim and the members of her Social and Educational Committee, took place on Thursday December 13th 2007 at Sunbury House, St. Phillip.
Over 300 guests joined the party and as usual at this regular event in the BARP social calendar, a fantastic time was had by all.
MC for the evening was marvellous Marvo Manning, who kept the proceedings (as well as the wine) flowing. The sumptuous buffet was efficiently served and enjoyed in the festively decorated grounds of the famous St. Philip plantation house. Following a welcome speech by BARP President Kathleen Drayton, a presentation was made to the Salvation Army of food items generously donated by BARP members.
Seasonal music filled the air courtesy of popular DJ Roger Williams and when the time for dancing came, he changed the tempo and the assembled guests packed the dance floor.
One of the highlights of the evening was a special guest appearance by ballroom dancing duo, Ken Farrell and Montege Dean-Bowen who, as always, delighted the crowd with their stylish routines. Next was an invitation to join in a 'line dance', which resulted in an impressive display from a number of (mostly female) guests.
The music and dancing continued into the night and all agreed that it had been an excellent party.
