Over 450 members attended the BARP AGM at Sherbourne Centre on Saturday July 21st 2007.
The majority of members were comfortably seated in the hall prior to the start time of 3pm, when the meeting was called to order by the President, Kathleen Drayton. Welcome and prayers were followed by a brief review of the minutes of the previous AGM which were accepted without comment or matters arising.
The President then presented the Report of the Board for 2006-2007 and welcomed a number of
comments from the floor, following which, the Report was adopted.
The Treasurer, Mr. David Griffith, presented the financial report which was followed by some brief questions from the floor. Details of the elections of members to the Board and the appointment of the Auditor followed and were accepted.
Mr. Ian Archer presented the Proposals for the BARP Manifesto, which created a lively debate in the hall. Many members contributed to the discussions and their contributions were duly noted.
The draw for the generously donated door prizes was followed by a number of discussions and contributions by members under the heading of 'General Business'.
The meeting concluded at 5.50pm and members were treated to refreshments in the main foyer.
