Joint_CareIt is time for the 11th Annual FREE BARP Bus Tour.  Don't miss out on this great day out for BARP members which is FREE!  Priority will be given to BARP members who have not previously enjoyed the hospitality of our friends at Stnasfeld Scott who arrange the tour every year.

You MUST register at the BARP office for  place on the tour and you absolutely MUST be on time for a prompt departure time of 9.30am on the day.

Don't wait, or you will be too late!  The immensley popular Art Classes for Beginners led by renown artist Fielding Babb start again on September 16th, and Registration Forms are now available at the BARP Office.  These forms must be collected, completed and submitted with the $40 registration fee  to the BARP Office with all haste as places are allocated on a first come first served basis.  Part one of the course will take place at the Girl Guides HQ in Pax Hill from 1-3pm every Thursday commencing September 16th for 10 weeks.  The last course was fully subscribed and there is already a waiting list for this next one.  Go to the BARP Office and make sure you register before this course becomes fully suscribed and you miss your chance to discover and develop your artistic talent.

Professor Woodville Marshall will deliver the third in his highly successful and popular series of lectures at 10am on Wednesday 22nd September at the Main Guard on History Untouched in our Schooldays.  This series of lectures is especially for retirees whose history lesson at school were restricted to English & European History.  The first lecture was called "What is Caribbean History?".  The second was English Settlers and African Immigrants and this next one focuses on Slavery.  Further subjects in the series of lectures will include Sugar Plantations, The Ancient Assembly and transformations since 1930s.  Refreshments will be served.

Put this date in your diary right now!  This special concert to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of BARP will be held at the Plantation Garden Theatre on Sunday 24th October 2010 at 4pm.  A great line up of entertainment is promised and food and drink will be available to make sure you thoroughly enjoy this celebratory event.  Tickets will be on sale nearer the time at just $45.  This is definitely one event you must not miss.  Keep checking here for further details as they become available.

One of the highlights of the BARP social calendar, the BARP Christmas Party is all set to take place at Sunbury Plantation House, St. Philip on Thursday 16th December.  Starting at 6.30pm, this event just gets better every year and for this, BARP’s 15th Anniversary, it will certainly be the best yet.  Tickets which include dinner, a drink and a fantastic evening’s entertainment, cost just $70 and will be available from mid-November.  But don’t leave it till the last minute!  Many members were disappointed last year when they discovered we had sold out.  You can even put your name down now to reserve your tickets by calling the BARP office on 228-7554, or by using the contact form on this website.  Don’t miss out!

One of BARP’s longest standing and most popular traditions is the Royal Barbados Police Band Christmas Concert which this year will be held on Saturday December 18th at 7.30pm at St. Cecilia Barracks.  Tickets will be available mid November and remember, this event always sells out and we do not have tickets at the door.  Why not put your name down for tickets now!
